Bridge to Recovery

Are you sick of your sin and struggling with a feeling of NO HOPE of ever getting Victory?   There is HOPE!
“If the son shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” (John 8:36)
Bride to Recovery is a faith based addictions recovery program where people find and receive help in overcoming addictions of all types.

At THE BRIDGE, our format is simple:
“CONNECT, CONNECT, CONNECT”
First
we CONNECT with GOD through a series of Core Truths, REAL student victories and testimonies of God’s goodness and challenging messages.  This is by design and aims at helping us to identify the root of the problems which lead to our struggles.
Next we CONNECT with each other in a small group setting where students will find love, encouragement, support, TRUST and friendship. Lastly we CONNECT with our own recovery throughout the week as students actively participate in the B2R curriculum and bible study.

The Bridge provides a 2 year curriculum grounded in the Word of God and provides students with STRUCTURE, ACCOUNTABILITY and FELLOWSHIP with God’s people through the local church.  Visitors and students are encouraged to bring their Bibles to our meetings, and to read, study, meditate and memorize verses throughout the week.

If you or a loved one struggles with an addiction of any kind, or maybe you are a Christian who has noticed that your walk with the Lord is not what it once was, THE BRIDGE can help!

Bridge to Recovery (B2R) meets Every Friday night at 7:00pm

We hope to see you soon at one of our meetings and “CONNECT” with you.
Personal (one on one) meetings with the director or group leader are also available, by appointment.

  • No, anyone from any denomination can attend.

  • Yes!  We highly encourage students to get involved in the program with their own personal support group.  All are welcome!

Are there other meeting days beside Friday’s?
  • B2R only meets on Friday nights at 7:00pm however students are also encouraged to attend other regular church services on Sunday mornings and evenings and Wednesday evenings to hear more preaching and enjoy more fellowship throughout the week and weekend.

How long do the Friday night meetings last?
  • We start at 7:00pm and are usually done by 8:45pm with a time of fellowship to follow which includes, coffee, pop, water & snacks, all free of charge.

I don’t have a driver’s license, is transportation available?
  • Yes, transportation is available within a 10 mile radius of the church, free of charge.

  • Nursery care for children under 3 years of age is available, with 48 hours advance notice.
  • Young children care is not currently available.
  • Teens, at the discretion of a parent or legal guardian, may attend the meetings with their parent or guardian.

Am I allowed to smoke?
  • We understand that not everyone is at the same place in their recovery.  Smoke breaks are permitted on the church property however the use of drugs, including marijuana or alcohol is not permitted.  Students are encouraged to consider their fellow students who may be triggered into relapse by seeing another student engaging in a smoke break and to consider abstaining while together at the meetings.

What kind of addictions does The Bridge help people with?
  • At the Bridge, we believe (with one exception found in 1 Cor. 16:15) that all addiction is sin and the remedy for all sin is the same; A personal relationship with Jesus Christ who will SAVE ETERNALLY, from the power and penalty of sin, ANYONE who repents and truly believes.  No one is perfect and sinless, but with the help of the Spirit of God, by Faith, we CAN sin….less.   B2R helps people with all types of addiction from excessive cell phone use to drugs.  “Fixing the root will change the fruit!”

I am on Probation, can you provide records of my attendance for my PO?
  • Yes, attendance is kept and recorded for everyone, every week, and reports can be generated upon request for submission to various judicial districts and probation departments, including signatures by B2R leadership, if required or requested.

B2R 12 CORE TRUTHS
1. My recovery depends on my relationship with God.
Hebrews 11:6, “
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”
2. I will never make progress until I become honest about my struggle.
Psalm 51:3, “
For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.”
3. Victory begins with surrender.
Romans 12:1-2,
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
4. In Jesus, I can have freedom and forgiveness.
Isaiah 55:7,
“Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man His thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon."
5. Meditating on God’s word will help me find victory and freedom.
Psalms 1:2, “
But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.”
6. Fixing the root will change the fruit... genuine change comes from the inside out.
II Corinthians 10:3-5,
“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong  holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ…”
7. The priorities in my life dictate the progress of my life.
Matthew 6:33, “
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
8. Life is not made by my desires, but by my decisions.
Philippians 4:8, “
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.)"
9. My past does not need to determine my future.
Philippians 3:13-14,
“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”
10. True success is not achieved by keeping rules, but by maintaining a right relationship with God and others.
Matthew 22:37-40,
“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”
11. My choices affect me and also those around me.
Romans 5:12, “
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned…”
12. My friends will affect my future.
Psalm 1:1, “
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.”
